I opened my independent consulting firm in 2002 to help clients create organizational success through strategic and targeted communications and marketing support. With nearly 20 years of experience across a variety of industries and organizations, I provide a full range of strategic public relations, corporate and marketing communications counsel, writing and project management services. I advise a client base that includes Fortune 500 companies such as Lockheed Martin and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans; educational institutions such as Concordia University, St. Paul; and a range of other companies and start-up organizations.
During the course of my career, I have provided counsel to more than 30 companies, either as a consultant or employee. With experience in both agency and corporate settings, I've been on both sides of the table and know how to provide maximum value without the high costs of a full-service communications agency. A key tenet of my consulting practice is that in addition to my expertise, I access a network of other professionals -- in essence a virtual agency -- who can help implement communications programs and deliver specialty services such as media training, video production and graphic design.
In addition to my consulting practice, I am president of IABC Minnesota, a chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), overseeing a 16-member board of directors. The Minnesota chapter is the fourth largest IABC chapter in the world, with more than 400 members ranging from independent consultants, to nonprofit communicators, to corporate vice presidents in the fields of employee communication, marketing communication, public relations and public affairs.
When I work with clients, I seek to understand their business environment and the issues they face. I ask the tough questions. I challenge conventional thinking. I work to bring programs in line with the organization's strategic plan. I deliver value to the bottom line.
